Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask ALA - Anthem South). They put the hurt on the St. John Paul II Catholic Lions with a sharp 57-32 win on Tuesday. This was payback for the Titans, who suffered a 56-24 defeat the last time these two teams met.

It was another big night for Jace Marsh, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and ten boards. He has been hot, having posted ten or more rebounds the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Landon Medrano, who went 5 of 7 to rack up 12 points and six boards.

ALA - Anthem South smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in five consecutive games.

Loss or not, St. John Paul II Catholic got some senior leadership from Adrian Zaragoza and Elijah Lopez. Zaragoza posted 12 points, while Lopez had 11 points. That's the most points Lopez has posted since back in November of 2024.

ALA - Anthem South picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 2-20. As for St. John Paul II Catholic, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-17 record this season.

As for St. John Paul II Catholic, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 68-44 loss against Mohave Accelerated on the 6th.
