Ritchie County has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging three runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Williamstown Yellowjackets as they made off with a 19-13 win. Considering the Rebels have won eight contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Rocklyn Marcum was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Ritchie County got a massive performance out of Rindy Perkins, who went 4-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those four hits gave Perkins a new career-high. Ritchie County hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Williamstown struck out seven times.

Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Williamstown, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-14.
Looking ahead, Ritchie County will face off against Braxton County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Rebels are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a 13-game losing streak. As for Williamstown, they will square off against Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
