Recap: Montrose Red Hawks vs. Roaring Fork Rams
The Montrose Red Hawks put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Roaring Fork 57-24 on the road. Considering Montrose has won four matchups by more than 24 points this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Kaleb Ferguson was his usual excellent self, scoring 18 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. The match was his ninth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Cooper Ross, who scored 12 points.
Roaring Fork's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Luis Andrade, who scored six points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kiko Pena, who scored four points along with five rebounds.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Roaring Fork struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Montrose racked up 19 assists.
Montrose's victory bumped their record up to 9-0. As for Roaring Fork, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Montrose will be staying on the road on January 9, 2024 to face off against Grand Junction Central at 7:00 p.m. on January 9, 2024. Roaring Fork will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Meeker at 7:30 p.m. on January 10, 2024.
