Baseball Recap: Flora Comes Up Short

Flora lost against Effingham back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Wolves lost 12-5 to the Hearts. The Wolves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Flora's loss dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Effingham, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Flora will challenge Edwards County at 10:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Lions' pitching crew has only allowed 2.3 runs per game this season, so the Wolves' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Effingham, they will take on Taylorville at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Hearts' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tornadoes have averaged an impressive 7.5 runs per game this season.
