Softball Recap: Erie Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Erie had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Horizon Hawks by a score of 15-11. That's more bragging rights for the Tigers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Natalie Fetters was a standout: she got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Keyanna Reeves, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four RBI, one run, and one double.

Erie kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 12 hits in four consecutive matchups.

Erie's record now sits at 15-4. As for Horizon, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Erie will challenge Lutheran at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. The Lions' pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so the Tigers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Horizon, they will take on Denver South at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
