Volleyball Game Preview: Animo Watts Warriors vs. Animo Venice Pirates

The Animo Watts Warriors will head out to square off against the Animo Venice Pirates at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Animo Watts took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They put the hurt on WISH Academy with a sharp 3-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Owls: they've now won seven in a row.

While Animo Watts won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 27-25, 25-19.

Meanwhile, Animo Venice waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Tritons.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Animo Venice got the one that really mattered. The final score came out to 25-18, 23-25, 25-21, 19-25, 15-8.

Animo Venice pushed their record up to 15-1 with the win, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Animo Watts, their victory bumped their record up to 9-4.

Animo Watts couldn't quite get it done against Animo Venice when the teams last played back in March as they fell 3-1. Can the Warriors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
