Basketball Recap: Nevaeh Cooper's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Tygarts Valley over Pendleton County

Tygarts Valley lost against Pendleton County back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Tygarts Valley Bulldogs fell 60-53 to the Pendleton County Wildcat.

Tygarts Valley's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nevaeh Cooper, who en route to 12 points and three steals. Cooper continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Emily Smith, who to rack up 12 points and five rebounds.

Even though they lost, Tygarts Valley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in December of 2024.

Tygarts Valley's loss dropped their record down to 12-9. As for Pendleton County, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.

Coincidentally, Tygarts Valley and Pendleton County will both be playing East Hardy the next time they take the court. Pendleton County will host East Hardy at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while Tygarts Valley will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
