Basketball Game Preview: Laton Mustangs vs. Alpaugh Buffalos

Laton and Alpaugh are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. Both will face off at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest having both just played. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Laton is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Kings Christian just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a 77-31 loss at the hands of the Crusaders. The Mustangs were down 63-24 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Yann Jimenez put forth a good effort for the losing side as he went 6 of 12 en route to 16 points and seven boards.

Meanwhile, Alpaugh was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 22nd straight defeat dating back to last season. The matchup between them and Wonderful College Prep Academy didn't end well, with Alpaugh falling 53-35.

Alpaugh's loss dropped their record down to 0-21. As for Laton, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-15.

Laton strolled past Alpaugh in their previous meeting two weeks ago by a score of 44-30. The rematch might be a little tougher for Laton since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
