Softball Recap: First Coast Takes a Loss

First Coast and Fletcher squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but First Coast had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Senators by a score of 6-5. The defeat continues a trend for the Buccaneers in their meetings with the Senators: they've now lost four in a row.

Brooke Edmonds made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Lexi Gates, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

First Coast's loss dropped their record down to 10-14. As for Fletcher, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-9 record this season.

First Coast does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Fletcher, they will challenge Nease at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
