Baseball Recap: Martin County Takes a Loss

Martin County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 10-4 to the Johnson Central Golden Eagles. The Cardinals were not able to make up for their defeat to the Golden Eagles from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Chase Stacy was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That double marked the first that he has hit this season. Damian Cheek was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs.

Martin County's loss dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Johnson Central, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season.

While Martin County had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
