AAA Region 5 recap Oct. 30, 2012
Cartersville extended the longest winning streak in AAA Region 5 this week by beating Adairsville, 45-3. This was the team's eighth consecutive win.
Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 4,373 from 4,598. The improvement came about via a 47-35 victory over North Murray last week.
Gordon Central's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Warriors feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. MJ Reynolds has thrown for 1566 yards and 21 touchdowns this season, while Chandler Curtis has 16 catches for 391 yards. Reynolds also leads the league in rushing with 312 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Gordon Central takes on the Tigers. As it stands, the Warriors are in second, while Adairsville is in fifth.
Gordon Central led AAA Region 5 in scoring this week after putting up 59 points on Sonoraville.
