Baseball Recap: Wabash's Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

Wabash had lost four games straight , but after bumping their record up to 8-9 on Tuesday that streak is in the rearview. They blew past the Rochester Zebras 7-1. This was payback for the Apaches, who suffered a 7-6 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Mackey Sorg spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on five hits. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Wabash is 4-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 4-8 otherwise.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Haiden McWhirt, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Dominic Baker was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

As for Rochester, their loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 13-2. The game marked their lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

On Rochester's side, they saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brady Coleman, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI. Linden Wilburn also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
