Basketball Recap: Butte County Pirates vs. Dietrich Blue Devils
Butte County fought the good fight in their overtime match against Dietrich on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Dietrich Blue Devils 65-59. The Pirates were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Blue Devils apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Butte County's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Koden Krosch, who almost dropped a double-double with 17 points and nine rebounds. Krosch is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Razor Duke, who went 6 of 14 en route to 13 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Even though they lost, Butte County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in three consecutive contests.
It was another big night for Connor Perkins, who dropped a double-double with 26 points and 17 boards for Dietrich. Thanks to that strong game, Perkins now owns an excellent 40.2% three-point shooting accuracy. Brody Torgerson was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with nine points and 16 rebounds.
Butte County's record is now 15-4. As for Dietrich, they pushed their record up to 16-3 with the win, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season.
