Soccer Game Preview: Marana vs. Sunnyside

Marana hasn't had much luck against Sunnyside recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Marana Tigers will challenge the Sunnyside Blue Devils at 6:00 p.m.

Marana is headed into Monday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 15th straight game on Thursday. They lost 5-1 to Rincon/University.

Meanwhile, Sunnyside had just enough and edged Tucson High Magnet School out 3-2 on Thursday. Given the Blue Devils' advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona soccer rankings (they are ranked second, while the Badgers are ranked 82nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Sunnyside has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 15 games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 81 goals over those 15 matches. As for Marana, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-15.

Marana suffered a grim 9-0 defeat to Sunnyside when the teams last played on January 15th. Can Marana avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
