Softball Recap: Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Find Success

The Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Red Raiders beat the Nativity BVM Green Wave 13-10 on Monday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Red Raiders.

The team relied heavily on Gabby Dusendschine, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Reaghan Fuller also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Our Lady of Lourdes Regional kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 2.6 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 contests they've averaged 10.4.

The victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 3-10. As for Nativity BVM, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-13.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Our Lady of Lourdes Regional will welcome Mahanoy Area at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Golden Bears have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.5 runs per game on average), something the Red Raiders will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Nativity BVM, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Marian Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Nativity BVM will need to watch out since Marian Catholic has now posted at least ten runs in their last five games.
