On Friday, Ogallala faced Cozad in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Ogallala Indians had just enough and edged the Cozad Haymakers out 65-63. The win was just business as usual for the Indians, who after 11 games remain undefeated this season.

Despite the defeat, Cozad had strong showings from Kellen Shoemaker, who went 6 for 8 from beyond the arc en route to 21 points, and Olliver Davis, who went 6 of 10 on his way to 15 points and seven boards. Shoemaker continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Noah Shoemaker, who posted nine points and seven rebounds.

Ogallala pushed their record up to 11-0 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 30.2 points. As for Cozad, they moved to 9-2 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Ogallala will head out on the road to square off against Sidney at 7:00 p.m. on January 17th. Ogallala knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 11 contests -- so hopefully Sidney likes a good challenge. Cozad has already played their next game, a 64-48 win against St. Patrick's on the 11th.
