Recap: Union Rockets vs. Community Christian Eagles
The Union Rockets's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their eighth straight loss. They were outmatched by Community Christian at home and fell 72-39. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Union in their matchups with Community Christian: they've now lost six in a row.
Union's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Lamar Schwartz, who scored 17 points along with two steals and two blocks, and Ethan Perry who scored nine points. That was a full 43.6% of Union's points, marking the sixth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Union bumped their record down to 1-9 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Community Christian, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-10.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Union won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Seven Oaks Classical at 12:30 p.m. on January 20th. Seven Oaks Classical comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Community Christian, they will be playing at home against Tabernacle Christian at 8:15 p.m. on Friday.
