Baseball Recap: Brownsville's Win Ends Six-Game Losing Streak on the Road

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Brownsville ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They walked away with an 8-3 victory over the Albert Gallatin Colonials. That five run margin sets a new team best for the Falcons this season.

Nash Petroff made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with one stolen base and two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Johnathan Vasbinder was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. He is becoming a predictor of Brownsville's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 3-11 when he doesn't).

Brownsville's win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-11. As for Albert Gallatin, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-12-1.

As of now, neither Brownsville nor the Colonials have any future games scheduled.
