Basketball Game Preview: Sandy Valley Cardinals vs. Hiland Hawks

Sandy Valley hasn't had much luck against Hiland recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Sandy Valley Cardinals will head out on the road to face off against the Hiland Hawks at 2:00 p.m. Sandy Valley has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Sandy Valley fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Ridgewood on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Generals by a score of 61-59. One positive for the Cardinals, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, Hiland earned a 54-47 win over Tuscarawas Valley on Thursday.

Sandy Valley's loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Hiland, their victory bumped their record up to 14-3.

Sandy Valley was dealt a bruising 69-28 defeat at the hands of Hiland in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Sandy Valley was down 38-13.
