Recap: Grace Christian Academy Rams vs. Silverdale Academy Seahawks
The Grace Christian Academy Rams pushed their score all the way to 35 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 42-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of Silverdale Academy. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Grace Christian Academy in their matchups with Silverdale Academy: they've now lost three in a row.
Despite the loss, Grace Christian Academy had strong showings from Weston Edmondson, who threw for 321 yards and four touchdowns, and Steven Riffey, who picked up 115 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Riffey was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield for a catch that went for 69 yards. Blake Perkey also helped out as he racked up 110 receiving yards.
Caleb Greco had an outrageously good game for Silverdale Academy as he rushed for 197 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.0 yards per carry. Landon Deitch also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Grace Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Silverdale Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 3-6 record this season.
Grace Christian Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Boyd-Buchanan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Boyd-Buchanan is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. As for Silverdale Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Christian Academy of Knoxville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Tennessee (Christian Academy of Knoxville is ranked 156th, while Silverdale Academy is ranked 174th).
