Flag Football Game Preview: Horizon Hawks vs. Legacy Lightning

The Horizon Hawks will take on the Legacy Lightning at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Legacy will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Horizon extended their winning streak to seven on Wednesday. The Hawks blew past Skyview 40-6. With the Hawks ahead 27-0 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

The critical scores for Horizon came from Madison Velotta, Lyla Waufle, Nevaeh Stukas, Genia Harris, and Sofia Di Annie.

Horizon didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off six passes before the game was over. Velotta led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by herself.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Legacy, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They blew past Gateway, posting a 35-0 victory. The matchup marked the Lightning's most dominant win of the season.

Horizon's victory bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Legacy, their win bumped their record up to 10-3.

Horizon strolled past Legacy in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 by a score of 20-6. Will the Hawks repeat their success, or do the Lightning have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
