Soccer Game Preview: Seymour vs. Xavier

The Seymour Thunder will venture away from home to take on the Xavier Hawks at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Seymour's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Seymour fell victim to Winneconne and their airtight defense on Saturday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Wolves. That's two games in a row now that Seymour have lost by exactly two goals.

Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Xavier took on Menasha on Tuesday. The Hawks' defense stepped up to hand the Bluejays a 3-0 shutout. Considering Xavier have won ten matches by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

The victory made it two in a row for Xavier and bumps their season record up to 13-2-1. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those two contests. As for Seymour, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-5-1.
