Recap: Coppell Cowboys vs. Guyer Wildcats

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Coppell Cowboys walked away with it. They strolled past Guyer with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 35-21. Coppell's win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Coppell's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Edward Griffin, who threw for 348 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 13.9 yards per attempt. Griffin hasn't dropped below three passing touchdowns for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Baron Tipton, who picked up 200 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Despite the defeat, Guyer had strong showings from Kaedyn Cobbs, who rushed for 107 yards on only 12 carries, and Kegan Stelmazewski, who picked up 95 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Coppell's victory bumped their record up to 11-0. As for Guyer, their loss dropped their record down to 7-4.

Coppell will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Dallas Jesuit. Dallas Jesuit knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully Coppell likes a good challenge. Guyer does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
