Baseball Game Preview: Housatonic-Lakeview Mountaineers vs. Mount Everett Regional Eagles

The Housatonic-Lakeview Mountaineers will face off against the Mount Everett Regional Eagles at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. Mount Everett Regional took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Housatonic-Lakeview, who comes in off a win.

On Tuesday, Housatonic-Lakeview was able to grind out a solid victory over Nonnewaug, taking the game 4-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mountaineers.

Meanwhile, Mount Everett Regional didn't have quite enough to beat Drury on Tuesday and fell 5-4. The loss continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Blue Devils: they've now lost four in a row.

Brodie Kinna spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, Mount Everett Regional saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sean Warren, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Mount Everett Regional's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Housatonic-Lakeview, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.

Housatonic-Lakeview came out on top in a nail-biter against Mount Everett Regional in their previous meeting back in April, sneaking past 9-8. Will the Mountaineers repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
