Basketball Recap: Kiona-Benton Beats Royal for Their Second Straight Victory

Royal came into Tuesday's match looking for another win against Kiona-Benton, but Yadi Aquilar wouldn't allow it. The Kiona-Benton Bears came out on top against the Royal Knights by a score of 49-38 on Tuesday thanks in part to Aquilar, who dropped a triple-double on 20 points, ten rebounds, and ten steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed four or more in the last three games she's played.

Another player making a difference was Shelby Messner, who posted seven points and nine boards. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in assists (three).

The win made it two in a row for Kiona-Benton and bumps their season record up to 8-12. As for Royal, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 7-1 and their overall record down to 10-9.
