Basketball Recap: Kaydie Sturm Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Gulliver Prep

North Broward Prep's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They walked away with a 54-43 win over the Gulliver Prep Raiders. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Eagles also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2022.

North Broward Prep's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kaydie Sturm, who posted eight points along with six boards and five steals. Sadye Eichman was another key player, dropping a double-double on ten points and 14 rebounds.

Despite the defeat, Gulliver Prep saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Mikayla Brown had 31 points. That was a full 72.1% of Gulliver Prep's points, marking the seventh time in a row she's put up more than a third of the team's points.

North Broward Prep is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 9-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.6 points per game. As for Gulliver Prep, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-7.

North Broward Prep wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 54-51 loss against Saint Andrew's on the 11th. As for Gulliver Prep, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 54-33 victory against Ransom Everglades on the 11th.
