Softball Recap: Petoskey Northmen vs. Okemos Wolves

The Petoskey Northmen beat the Okemos Wolves 11-6 on Saturday.

Avery Leist was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over six innings while giving up five earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits. Leist was also big at the plate, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with one run.

In other batting news, Alexis Cadarette was incredible, going a perfect 5-for-5 with three stolen bases, four runs, and one triple. Those five hits gave her a new career-high. Petoskey's record now sits at 20-2. As for Okemos, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.

Petoskey wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 14-6 victory against St. Patrick on the 10th. As for Okemos, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Ionia at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
