Basketball Recap: Windsor Drops Highest Score of Season Against Surry County

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Windsor). They took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging a 50-21 victory over the Surry County Cougars. The Dukes have beaten the Cougars the last eight times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Cougars has come to flipping the script.

Surry County's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Zariah Harrell, who posted ten points and five boards, and Adalynn Swanner, who earned no points and 11 rebounds. Swanner is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down eight or more in each of the last nine games she's played.

Windsor's win bumped their record up to 7-10. As for Surry County, they are on a 27-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-22.

Windsor has already played their next matchup, a 45-27 defeat against Greensville County on the 10th. Surry County will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on West Point at 7:00 p.m. on February 18th. West Point will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Surry County surely won't give up without a fight.
