Recap: West Henderson Falcons vs. Brevard Blue Devils
Even though the Brevard Blue Devils scored an imposing 57 points on Tuesday, the West Henderson Falcons still came out on top. West Henderson took their match against Brevard 70-57. That result was just more of the same for these two, as West Henderson also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2021.
West Henderson's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Grant Putnam, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 17 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jackson Lyda, who scored 14 points along with 7 assists and 5 steals.
Brevard's loss came despite strong showings from Tre Crite and Eli Griffin. Crite dropped a double-double on 23 points and 10 rebounds, while Griffin scored 19 points along with 5 assists. Crite scored a full 40.4% of Brevard's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Dillon Galloway was another key contributor, scoring 4 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 steals.
West Henderson's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Brevard, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Henderson will take on Hendersonville at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Hendersonville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 last Tuesday. Brevard won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Smoky Mountain at 8:00 p.m. on November 29th.
