Baseball Recap: Western Wayne Comes Up Short

Western Wayne managed to slip by Old Forge the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Wildcats came up short against the Blue Devils on Monday, falling 13-3. That's two games in a row now that the Wildcats have lost by exactly ten runs.

Western Wayne saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ethan Lamberton, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

This is the second loss in a row for Western Wayne and nudges their season record down to 5-9. As for Old Forge, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.

Western Wayne will be playing at home against Mid Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Spartans' pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so the Wildcats' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Old Forge, they will head out to face off against Holy Cross at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Blue Devils are facing the Crusaders at the right time seeing as the Crusaders are stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
