Volleyball Recap: McDonald County Comes Up Short

After flying high against Southwest on Tuesday, McDonald County came back down to earth. The Mustangs lost 3-0 to the Neosho Wildcats on Thursday. The Mustangs have struggled against the Wildcats recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-20, 25-14.

Despite the loss, McDonald County still got an impressive performance from Leslie Velazques, who had 12 digs and two aces. Velazques has been hot recently, having posted two or more aces the last three times she's played.

McDonald County's defeat dropped their record down to 8-17-2. As for Neosho, their win ended a six-match drought on the road and puts them at 7-20-2.

As of now, neither McDonald County nor the Wildcats have any future games scheduled.
