Baseball Game Preview: Alexander Trojans vs. Elba Lancers

The Alexander Trojans will face off against the Elba Lancers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Alexander is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.

On Tuesday, Alexander beat Attica 11-6.

Meanwhile, Elba got themselves on the board against Letchworth on Monday, but Letchworth never followed suit. They walked away with a 5-0 victory over the Legends. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lancers.

Brendan Porey was excellent, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Mark Caparco, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run.

Alexander's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.4 runs over those games. As for Elba, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.

Alexander was able to grind out a solid victory over Elba when the teams last played back in May of 2023, winning 11-7. Do the Trojans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Lancers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
