Soccer Recap: Nacogdoches Takes a Loss

Nacogdoches lost against Jacksonville back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Nacogdoches Dragons fell just short of the Jacksonville Fightin' Indians by a score of 2-1. While losing is never fun, the Dragons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 100th, while the Fightin' Indians are ranked 15th).

Nacogdoches' goal came courtesy of Victor Martinez, who's now up to five this season.

Nacogdoches' loss dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Jacksonville, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That lines up perfectly with their 13-0 record this season.

Nacogdoches will square off against Lufkin at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Nacogdoches' last three contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Jacksonville, they will challenge Tyler at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
