Irene/Wakonda is 9-1 against Viborg/Hurley since October of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Eagles are taking a road trip to challenge the Cougars at 7:15 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

It was a Battle of the Birds when Irene/Wakonda challenged Canistota on Monday. The Eagles fell 3-1 to the Hawks. While the Eagles didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Hawks 25-13 in the first set.

Irene/Wakonda started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 13-25, 25-23, 25-15, 25-15.

Meanwhile, Viborg/Hurley lost 3-0 to Freeman on Monday. The Cougars have struggled against the Flyers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Viborg/Hurley was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the third set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-14, 25-22.

Irene/Wakonda's loss dropped their record down to 8-15. As for Viborg/Hurley, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-18.

Irene/Wakonda skirted past Viborg/Hurley 3-2 in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
