Softball Recap: Champaign Central Comes Up Short

Champaign Central couldn't beat Rochester on Wednesday even though they stacked four runs on them in the third inning. The Maroons fell just short of the Rockets by a score of 8-7. The Maroons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Grace Bandy and Mya De La Cruz stepped up to the plate in a big way. Bandy went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs, while De La Cruz went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Olivia Roundtree was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Champaign Central's defeat dropped their record down to 22-3. As for Rochester, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That lines up perfectly with their 21-7 record this season.

Champaign Central will face off against Centennial at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Rochester does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
