Douglas came tearing into Saturday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 36.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They enjoyed a cozy 54-38 win over the Tombstone Yellow Jackets. The 54-point effort marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Douglas' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Francia Rubio, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine steals. Scarlette Ruiz was another key player, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 11 boards.

Douglas smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive board total in three consecutive games.

Douglas' victory bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Tombstone, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-3.

Douglas wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 66-34 win against Benson on the 14th. As for Tombstone, they will host Morenci at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
