Softball Game Preview: Osawatomie Trojans vs. Iola Mustangs

Osawatomie hasn't had much luck against Iola recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Trojans will look to defend their home field against the Mustangs at 4:30 p.m. Osawatomie has given up an average of 8.5 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Osawatomie is headed into Tuesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Tuesday. They lost 13-2 to Santa Fe Trail.

Osawatomie saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alyssa Haefele, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI.

Meanwhile, Iola made easy work of Prairie View last Tuesday and carried off a 17-8 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Mustangs have posted against the Buffalos since April 2, 2019.

Iola has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 14.5 runs this season. As for Osawatomie, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7.
