Basketball Game Preview: Clinton Prairie Gophers vs. Eastern Comets

The Clinton Prairie Gophers will take on the Eastern Comets at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Clinton Prairie's favor as the team sits on nine straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Eastern has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.

Clinton Prairie easily dispatched Carroll on Friday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. Clinton Prairie fell just short of Tipton by a score of 48-45 on Saturday. The game marked the Gophers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Eastern played a tough matchup on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 44-24 to Eastbrook.

Clinton Prairie's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-2. As for Eastern, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.

Clinton Prairie didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Eastern in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, but they still walked away with a 56-52 victory. Will Clinton Prairie repeat their success, or does Eastern have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
