Football Recap: Norfolk Panthers vs. Burke Bulldogs
Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Norfolk). They claimed a resounding 69-39 win over the Burke Bulldogs on the road. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Panthers had established a 28 point advantage.
Norfolk's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Isidro Rosas, who rushed for 68 yards and two touchdowns on only five carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Cole Signor, who threw for 120 yards and two touchdowns.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Norfolk was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 248 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in September of 2023.

Despite the loss, Burke had strong showings from Nate Collins, who threw for 399 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 13.3 yards per attempt, and Dayton Collins, who picked up 143 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Dayton torched the secondary when he pulled down a catch that went for 73 yards.
Norfolk now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Burke, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.
Norfolk will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Elkhorn South at 7:00 p.m. As for Burke, they will head out on the road to challenge Papillion-LaVista South at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
