Basketball Recap: Milburn Comes Up Short

Milburn lost against Oklahoma School for the Deaf back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Milburn Eagles took a 63-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Oklahoma School for the Deaf Bison. The Eagles were down 49-29 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Oklahoma School for the Deaf's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Landen Fewel led the charge by dropping a double-double on 13 points and ten assists. Those ten assists gave Fewel a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Russell Fewel, who posted 14 points.

Milburn has traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last 12 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season. As for Oklahoma School for the Deaf, their victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-6.

Milburn wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 79-44 loss against Mill Creek on the 30th. As for Oklahoma School for the Deaf, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 43-29 defeat against Paoli on the 4th.
