Basketball Recap: Dominic Cox-Giles Key Part of a Team Effort in Quakers Win

A well-balanced attack led Quaker Valley over Shenango in every quarter on their way to victory on Monday. The Quaker Valley Quakers came out on top against the Shenango Wildcats by a score of 43-30. The Quakers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Wildcats, too.

Quaker Valley got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Dominic Cox-Giles out in front who posted eight points and 24 rebounds. Cox-Giles is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down 13 or more in the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was Kolton Johnson, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and six assists.

Quaker Valley's win bumped their record up to 15-7. As for Shenango, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-11.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Quaker Valley will square off against Deer Lakes at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Shenango, they will face off against Chartiers-Houston at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
