Softball Recap: Independence Tigers vs. Franklinton Demons

Independence was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost 20-4 to the Franklinton Demons. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Demons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-0 back in February.

Independence's defeat dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Franklinton, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-11.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Independence will square off against West St. John at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Franklinton, they will venture away from home to square off against Ponchatoula at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Demons' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Green Wave have averaged an impressive 9.2 runs per game this season.
