Softball Recap: Strasburg-Franklin Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Victory

Strasburg-Franklin had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Monday. They never let the Tuscarawas Central Catholic Saints get on the board and left with a 5-0 victory. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 5-1 victory back in April.

Miley Reifenschneider made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 18 over seven innings pitched. Those 18 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

In other batting news, Rayelle Watkins was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Sofia Secrest was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Strasburg-Franklin pushed their record up to 15-8 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Tuscarawas Central Catholic, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-14.

Looking ahead, Strasburg-Franklin will square off against John Glenn at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Tuscarawas Central Catholic does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
