Soccer Recap: Highlands Falls Short of Southwest in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Highlands can now relate to. They came up short against the Southwest Dragons on Friday, falling 9-0. While losing is never fun, Highlands can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 591st, while Southwest are ranked 202nd).

Highlands' defeat dropped their record down to 15-10-1. As for Southwest, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 16 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-5 record this season.

Highlands does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Southwest, they will challenge Rouse on Monday. Rouse will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Southwest surely won't give up without a fight.
