Football Game Preview: Centereach Cougars vs. Deer Park Falcons

The Centereach Cougars will face off against the Deer Park Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Neither Centereach nor Deer Park posted many points in their last games, so it might be the defenses that decide this one.

Centereach managed to slip by Newfield the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Cougars were beaten by the Wolverines 50-0 on Saturday. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Cougars were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, Deer Park was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 13-8 heartbreaker at the hands of Commack.

Centereach's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Deer Park, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 1-6.

Centereach and Deer Park were neck-and-neck in their previous meeting back in September of 2023, but Centereach came up empty-handed after a 27-26 defeat. Can the Cougars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
