Baseball Recap: Fletcher Beats Nease for Their Third Straight Victory

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Fletcher walked away with it. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Nease Panthers a 3-0 shutout on Monday. Winning may never get old, but the Senators sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Nease's batters probably weren't too happy with Kyle Johnson, who pitched a no hitter (he gave up two walks). Johnson has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Fletcher's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Tucker Demsey, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Fletcher's win bumped their record up to 15-7-1. As for Nease, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-17 record this season.

Fletcher will take on First Coast at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Senators 4, the Buccaneers 3.9) so any runs scored will be well earned. Nease does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
