Basketball Game Preview: New Albany Eagles vs. Westerville South Wildcats

New Albany is 0-3 against Westerville South since December of 2014 but things could change on Tuesday. The New Albany Eagles will challenge the Westerville South Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Last Friday, New Albany was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 40-35 to Dublin Jerome. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 303rd, while the Celtics are ranked 37th).

Meanwhile, Westerville South unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They opened the new year with a less-than-successful 53-40 defeat to Brush. The contest marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

New Albany's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Westerville South, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-3.

New Albany was dealt a bruising 59-21 loss at the hands of Westerville South in their previous meeting back in February of 2022. Can New Albany avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
