Basketball Recap: Keelan Benjamin Key Part of a Team Effort in Eagles Win

Lancaster won the last time they faced Pacifica and things went their way on Saturday too. The Lancaster Eagles managed a 76-71 victory over the Pacifica Tritons.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lancaster to victory, but perhaps none more so than Keelan Benjamin, who posted 21 points in addition to five boards and three steals. Benjamin continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of De'Shane Evans, who had 15 points and five steals.

Despite the defeat, Pacifica saw an underclassman step up: freshman Tommy Williams put up 30 points. Another player making a difference was Julian Fuentes, who posted ten points and five rebounds.

Lancaster's record is now 6-11. As for Pacifica, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season.

Lancaster didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 64-58 loss against Eastside on the 7th. As for Pacifica, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, an 81-34 defeat against Oxnard on the 6th.
