Baseball Recap: Carroll Comes Up Short

Carroll fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Homestead on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 8-6. The Chargers' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it five in a row.

Logan Inman was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits.

On the hitting side, Jaxon Sparks made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and fired off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Jaxon Craker, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run.

Carroll now has a losing record of 10-11. As for Homestead, their victory bumped their record up to 17-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Carroll will venture away from home to square off against Huntington North at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Homestead, they will take on Munster in a tournament on Friday.
