Volleyball Recap: West Bloomfield Comes Up Short

West Bloomfield lost against Lake Orion back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Lakers lost 3-0 to the Dragons.

While West Bloomfield ultimately came up short, they really made Lake Orion work, particularly in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 26-24, 25-16.

Lake Orion got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kate DeLalla out in front who had seven digs and three aces. That's the most aces DeLalla has posted over her last ten matches. Another player making a difference was Caitrin O'Rourke, who had 12 assists and three digs.

West Bloomfield has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-9 record this season. As for Lake Orion, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 20-23-1.

West Bloomfield has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Whiteford on the 18th. As for Lake Orion, they will take on Detroit Country Day at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
